A careful first-contact resolution check for help desks
Confirm that a request was actually resolved before treating a one-touch ticket as a success.
Direct answer
A ticket can close after one reply and still create another contact. Check whether the reply answered the stated question, included the next step, and matched the action the specialist was allowed to take.
Use follow-up signals such as a reopened ticket, a related request, or a customer reply that repeats the same problem. These signals are more useful than a closure count on its own.
Keep sensitive decisions out of a first-contact target. A careful handoff may be the right result when identity, security, money, or ownership is involved.
Review a sample of quick closures and compare them with later contacts. Use the finding to improve the answer, the category, or the escalation path.
