Add a confirmation step before closing help desk work
Compare the customer goal with observable completion evidence before marking a ticket resolved.

Direct answer
The operating goal is to close on a supported outcome rather than an internal action alone. Begin with the customer outcome and the evidence needed for the next observable event.
Daily routine: restate the goal, verify the completion event, test required access where permitted, communicate any limits, and record the closure basis. Keep the ticket as the durable source of truth and make the owner and review time visible.
Separate what the customer reported from what support verified. Record open questions plainly so another shift can continue without treating an assumption as fact.
Boundary: A handoff, reply, or status change is not automatically a resolved customer outcome. When that boundary is reached, preserve permitted evidence, explain the next route, and send the decision to the authorized owner.
Example: Reset instructions were sent, but the ticket closes only after the approved completion condition is met. The customer-facing message should match the internal evidence state.
Review a small weekly sample for missed promises, bounced ownership, excess data, stale language, and repeated questions. Assign each repair to one owner with a follow-up date.
