Handle SaaS user-role requests with a safe stopping point
Guide routine role questions while keeping permissions and ownership decisions with an accountable approver.
Direct answer
A role request should identify the user, workspace, requested permission, business reason, and approver. Support can prepare the change when documented, but should not infer approval from a message that lacks the required owner.
Use the least access needed for the stated task and record the approved role rather than a vague request for access. Keep credentials and unrelated user data out of the ticket.
If the request affects billing, administration, security, or ownership, stop at the approved handoff. Tell the requester what was checked and what decision remains.
Sample role tickets after completion for correct approval, exact access, and removal expectations. Repeated ambiguity belongs in the request form or policy, not only in training.
